Woman found dead in Caloocan
A woman was found dead, naked, and with multiple stab wounds in her house at Barangay 31 in Caloocan City Monday evening.
Police identified the victim as Florinda De Villion, 42, accounting staff.
Arrested was Jay Ar Malano, 21, janitor, resident of the area. Police said Malano is De Villion’s neighbor and the two do not know each other.
According to the victim’s relative, De Villion was getting ready for work when the suspect went inside the house at about 10 a.m. on Monday.
The victim was alone because her live-in partner was at work as a security guard.
Capt. Herson Manegdeg, Police Community Precinct (PCP)-2, said Malano stabbed De Villion repeatedly on her chest at the bathroom as she was about to take a bath, which explains why she was naked when she was found.
The neighbors reportedly heard De Villion shouting for help.
“Huwag nyo po akong patayin. Gawin niyo na lahat ng gusto nyo sa akin, huwag nyo lang po akong patayin dahil may anak ako (Don’t kill me. Do anything you want but don’t kill me because I have a child),” she was reportedly heard saying.
However, out of fear, De Villion’s neighbors stayed indoors and just waited for someone to exit the house but no one did even after an hour, Manegdeg said.
Benjamin De Villion, the victim’s father, found his daughter dead when he went to her house at about 7 p.m. on Monday.
He told the police that he went to visit his daughter after she failed to stop by his house earlier in the day to check on her child, who was staying at his place.
He also called his daughter’s office to check if she went to work that day but no one picked up the phone.
Manegdeg said they started suspected Malano after a sari-sari store owner said he bought a band-aid from the store supposedly after he committed the crime.
The suspect’s mother told the police that Malano was at the birthday celebration of his son at Pasay City.
Elements of PCP-2 eventually arrested the suspect at Libertad in Pasay City at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday.
Malano claimed that a voice whispered to him and told him to kill De Villion.
Malano is now under police custody and will be facing charges for murder, police said.
