In a report by GMA News, MMDA Assistant General Manager for Planning Ret. Gen. Jose Campo said they are in talks with mall operators on their plans to adjust their opening hours in order to ease traffic during rush hours on ber-months.

“There will be no more sales during weekdays, it can be done only on weekends,” said Campo.

He said they are planning for late-hour operations starting at 11 a.m and deliveries of goods by 11 p.m to 5 a.m to “practically reduce the volume of delivery trucks”.

“We encourage carpooling to all mall employees during their time. Because in Metro Manila alone, we have more than 300,000 mall employees,” Campo added.

The MMDA will also prohibit colorum public utility vehicles (PUVs), public utility jeepneys (PUJs), and transport network vehicles inside the mall’s area during the Holiday season.
