Adamson University cancels classes due to nearby fire

To ensure the safety of students, afternoon classes in the Adamson University in Ermita, Manila were ordered suspended, Thursday, Sept. 26, due to a nearby fire that razed a residential area at Sylvia St. corner San Marcelino earlier.

The university’s AUSG will be open as temporary shelter for the fire victims, its student government announced on Facebook.

Employees were asked to stay until 5 pm only.

According to reports, the fire started at a residential area around 12:19 pm at Sylvia Street corner San Marcelino, Ermita, Manila.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is on-site as of 1:26 pm, according to the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of fire.
