Students’ group condemns PMA plebe’s death from hazing

The League of Filipino Students (LFS) has condemned the tragic death of Darwin Dormitorio, a 20-year-old Philippine Military Academy (PMA) plebe who died from hazing.

“This government boasts of the PMA as a premier military training institution yet nothing can hide its bloody and violent history – plagued with incidents of harassment, hazing and outright violation of human rights,” said LFS national spokesperson Kara Taggaoa.
Taggaoa also chided the government for pushing “fascist policies” like the mandatory Reserve Officers Training Course (ROTC) in Senior High School (SHS.)
ROTC was scrapped due to several hazing deaths, sexual abuse, and corruption.
