Part of Roxas Boulevard to be closed on Sunday for fun run event

The Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MPD-TEU) on Saturday announced that it will implement road closure and rerouting of vehicles for the “Run Rio Fun Run: Trilogy Leg 3 2019” on Sunday.

MPD-TEU said the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo in Manila will be closed to motorists starting from 12:01 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Sept. 22.

In an advisory on Saturday, MPD said that all vehicles coming from Bonifacio Drive intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. should turn left to P. Burgos Ave. to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from three bridges (Jones, McArthur, Quezon) intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd., should go straight to Taft Ave., to point of destination.

Motorists traveling westbound lane of P. Burgos Ave., should turn right to Bonifacio Drive or make a U-turn to the eastbound lane of P. Burgos Ave., to point of destination.

All vehicles traveling westbound lane of TM Kalaw St., going to Roxas Blvd., should turn left to MH del Pilar St., to point of destination.

Motorists traveling westbound lane of UN Ave., going to Roxas Blvd., should turn left to MH del Pilar St., or utilize Roxas Blvd., service road to point of destination.

All vehicles traveling westbound lane of Pres. Quirino Ave., intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd., should turn left to Adriatico St., to point of destination.

Motorists traveling westbound lane of P. Ocampo St., intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd., should turn left to F.B. Harrison to point of destination.

All vehicles going to and from Manila Ocean Park / H2O Hotel and Manila Hotel should utilize Katigbak Drive as access road.

The MPD said that the actual closing and opening of affected roads will depend on the traffic condition.

The traffic unit also advised motorists to follow this traffic re-routing scheme to avoid heavy traffic.

The Run Rio Fun Run “highlights progression running leading to a full marathon.” It offers those who want to finish their first 42K with the aim of performing better at each leg.
