SeedWorks PH renews partnership with DB Schenker

Amid the continuously growing demand for its hybrid rice seeds across the country, SeedWorks Philippines has renewed its partnership with multinational logistics firm DB Schenker. The deal is part of the company’s goal to further help Filipino farmers to be more globally competitive and increase their income through the hybrid rice seeds varieties of it offers.

“We do not want to compromise our services and we want to partner only with the best,” said SeedWorks Philippines Finance & Administration Manager Noriel Aviñante. “The business partnership with SeedWorks dates as far as 2016 and we have recently renewed the contract”, said Irma Diaz-Guevarra, DB Schenker’s Director - Contract Logistics/SCM & National Distribution.

DB Schenker, the world’s leading global logistics provider headquartered in Germany, operates 70 logistics sites in the Philippines, with 2,000 trucks deployed on a daily basis, and an overall national workforce of up to 1,800 employees.

The renewed partnership also comes as Schenker completes an upgrade of the storage facility in Carmona, Cavite dedicated to SeedWorks. That storage site has a total capacity of 600MT of hybrid rice seed that will house the company’s hybrid rice seed products, including its US-88 variety that is getting more popular among local farmers for its long grain, high-yield and high milling qualities.

The Carmona warehouse has a newly installed equipment to maintain the ideal quality of rice seeds by controlling temperature and humidity. With the logistics support from DB Schenker, SeedWorks assures that its high-quality hybrid rice seeds can reach Filipino farmers in the best condition possible. SeedWorks also has a similar storage facility in Mindanao to cater to farmers in the southern regions of the country.

“This is in line with our commitment to provide superior seed solution to the Filipino farmers and support our government’s drive in levelling up the country’s agriculture,” said SeedWorks Philippines President Carlos Saplala.
