Drug dealer killed in Novaliches shootout

A known drug personality was killed in Novaliches, Quezon City, after trading shots with police sent to arrest him on Thursday.
Police investigators said Riyad Sunga, 28, a resident of Saturnina Compound in Barangay Sauyo, was number 6 in the list of top drug traffickers in Novaliches.
A police team had gone to his house to serve a warrant for his arrest issued by Acting 2nd Vice Executive Judge Ferdinand Baylon.
As the officers approached the house, Sunga jumped from a window and tried to escape.
As the officers gained on him, Sunga pulled out a handgun and fired at them.
The officers fired back killing him on the spot.
Recover from the slain suspect were a caliber .38 revolver, ammunition, and a sling bag containing 10 sachets of shabu.
Seized from Sunga’s house were five packets of shabu with an estimated street value of P34,000, seven sachets of dried marijuana leaves, a stack of dried marijuana leaves wrapped in a black plastic, and drug paraphernalia.
