Rehabilitation works will resume in various road sections in Metro Manila, including two national highways over the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways said Friday.

Road works will resume some parts of the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Circumferential Road-5 (C-5), and other road sections in Quezon City and Taguig City starting 11 p.m. Friday.

Repair activities on EDSA will affect the southbound directions from Bansalangin to North Avenue (U-Turn Slot), fifth lane from sidewalk; and at the northbound direction after P. Tuazon underpass, first lane from center island.

Reblocking works will also be conducted at the southbound directions of C-5 near Market Market; and at the northbound direction of Katipunan Avenue/C-5 after C.P. Garcia Street, truck lane.

In Quezon City, road reblocking works will also be undertaken at the northbound directions of G. Araneta Avenue from T. Arguelles to Bayani; at the eastbound directions of Quirino Highway, from Salvia Street to before Belfast Road, outer lane; and Elliptical Road, after Maharlika Street, eighth lane from outer sidewalk; at the westbound direction of General Luis Street, from Samote Street to SB Diversion Road; and at the northbound direction of A. Bonifacio Avenue from J. Pineda to Marvex Drive, first lane from center island.

Reblocking activity will also be carried out at the southbound direction of a road in Taguig City, fronting Palar Village.

Motorists are advised to take possible alternate routes due to expected traffic build-up on affected areas, which will reopen by early Monday morning, the department said.
