K9 handler electrocuted in Parañaque

A K-9 handler was discovered in a state of decomposition after he got electrocuted while harvesting vegetables in a grassy portion of kennel area of a world-class hotel and casino in Parañaque City.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the victim identified as Rey Peralta, was discovered at about 3:11 p.m last Tuesday.

The SPD said that witness Virgilio Sagadraca claimed that victim was last seen at about 9 a.m last Monday collecting ampalaya vegetables inside the kennel premises.

Sagadraca added that a certain John Paul Dagsil who was also harvesting amplaya, discovered the body of Peralta already in a state of decomposition.

Minor student stabbed in QC

A 14-year-old boy was arrested by the police on Wednesday after he stabbed to death a 15-year-old high school student in Barangay Paltok, Quezon City.

Probers of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the incident happened during a fight between the two after a billiards game.

Initial report from QCPD's Masambong Police Station (PS-2) showed that the victim and his two friends were on their way home when the incident happened Tuesday night.

While walking along Anakbayan Street in Barangay Paltok around 10:20 p.m., the group of the victim noticed that they were being followed by the suspect who was also with his friend.

The two got into a heated altercation but were immediately pacified by bystanders in the area.

The group of the victim continued to head home, but the suspect followed them again resulting in another squabble on the corner of Mendoza Street.

During the clash, the victim saw the suspect pulling out a bladed weapon prompting him to get a piece of wood for defense.

However, he was already stabbed by the suspect on his left chest.

The suspect escaped from the crime scene while the victim was rushed to Provident Hospital where he eventually died due to the fatal stab wound.

Meanwhile, authorities conducted a follow-up operation on the case which led to the arrest of the suspect in Pasay City on Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect is now under the custody of QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) for inquest proceedings and will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for proper intervention. (Alexandria San Juan)

Two 'drug peddlers' arrested in Marikina

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested by police in a buy-bust operation in Marikina City Tuesday night.

Police identified the suspects as Aurius Diaz, 40, and Mary Laine Balan, 27.

Marikina City Police said that Diaz was included in the unified drug watchlist.

Investigation showed that members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the drug sting against the duo along Crystal Street, Twin River Subdivision in Barangay Parang at around 9 p.m.

A police poseur buyer transacted with the suspects to purchase illegal drugs. After the deal, the policemen quickly nabbed the duo.

Police seized from the suspects 10 sachets of suspected shabu and the P500 marked money.

Diaz and Balan are now detained at Marikina City Police custodial facility.

Charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the suspects, police said. (Jhon Casinas)

Alleged drug pusher killed in buy-bust

An alleged drug pusher died in an encounter with the police during a buy-bust operation early Thursday morning in Pasay City.

Police identified the suspect as Jeffrey Pilapil, about 35 to 40 years old, and a resident of Pasay City. He suffered several gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

Investigation showed the incident happened at about 1:10 a.m. along the stretch of Humilidad Street, Pasay City.

The police said that prior to the encounter, members of the Station Drug Enforcement Team conducted buy-bust operation against the suspect after the police received numerous complaints of the suspect's illegal drug activity.

According to the cops, during the operation, the suspect sensed that he was transacting a police poseur-buyer and opened fire to the policemen.

Members of the SDET who were scattered around saw the commotion and immediately shot the suspect.

Two men arrested for illegal drugs, explosives possession in Taguig

Police arrested two men for alleged possession of suspected illegal drugs and explosives when they were caught in  a follow-up operation after robbing at gunpoint a habal-habal driver in Taguig City Wednesday afternoon.

The Taguig City police identified them as Jeffrey Isidro and Alvin Balderama, both residents of the city.

Police said that prior to the suspects’ arrest, a habal-habal driver reported to them that he was robbed at gunpoint on Martinez St. in Barangay Central Signal around 3 p.m.

The victim told police that Isidro hailed him, and when they arrived at the said area, Balderama was already there, waiting for them, and immediately declared a hold-up.

The suspects immediately fled on board the motorcycle of the victim, but were later arrested in a follow-up operation after the victim sought assistance from the police.

Seized from Isidro and Balderama were two .38 caliber pistol ARMSCOR, 12 pieces live ammunition, three pieces fired cartridge cases, two hand grenades, three sachets of suspected shabu, and the stolen motorcycle, police said.

Suspected drug peddlers nabbed in Marikina

Anti-narcotics agents of Eastern Police District nabbed two alleged drug peddlers in a buy-bust operation in Marikina City Wednesday night.

Police identified the suspects as Cypress Delloson, 27, and Richard Aragon, 33. Both men are residents of Barangay Malanday, Marikina.

Investigation showed that members of the District Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a drug sting against the duo along Camia Street in Barangay Malanday at around 8:30 p.m.

The suspects were apprehended after dealing with a police poseur buyer.

Police seized six sachets of suspected as shabu and the P500 marked money from the suspects.

Police Lt. Col. Reggie Lacsama, EPD Drug Enforcement Unit chief, said a tipster reported that Delloson and Aragon were known drug peddlers in the area.

Records also revealed that the duo were both listed in the unified drug watchlist.

Cases for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (Jhon Casinas)
