CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite – A 73-year-old woman was killed and seven other people were injured when two Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) collided head-on in Binakayan, Kawit, Tuesday.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office identified the woman as Rosita Restauro Oleverio, a resident of Las Piñas City.
Olevario died of injuries at the Binakayan Doctors Hospital where she was brought along with four relatives and a companion.
Police said the group’s Mitsubishi Xpander GLX 1.5G car and a Mitsubishi Montero SPT GLS car, with two people aboard, smashed head-on on the highway in Binakayan.
The Xpander was headed for Manila and the Montero for Tanza town. Police said the Xpander switched lanes and right into the Montero’s path.
The collision wrecked the front of the vehicles.
The injured were identified as Jessie Hipgano Oleverio, the driver of the Xpander; and occupants Jessebel Cas Piña, 20, Jason Hipgano Oleverio, 20, Marjorie Hipgano Oleverio, 15, Mercedita Hipgano Oleverio, 51, and Mark Joseph Hipgano Oleverio, 21, and Chris Dale Aguilucho Darvin, 45, the driver of the Montero and its occupant Trisha Kaye De la Cruz Manahan, 23, residents of Imus.
The four Oleverios and Piña were taken to Binakayan Doctors, and Darvin and Manahanto the Our Lady of the Pillar Medical Center in Imus, police said.
