“Assistant Secretary Neal Vincent M. Bainto has been appointed DOJ Deputy Spokesperson,” Perete announced on Tuesday.

Perete indicated that Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra signed Department Order No. 491 on Monday naming Bainto as deputy spokesperson.

In the department order, Guevarra instructed Bainto “to assist the spokesperson in informing the public matters of concern to the Department, and to assume the tasks and duties of the spokesperson in his absence.”

“The foregoing tasks shall be in addition to the current duties and responsibilities of Assistant Secretary Bainto,” Guevarra told Bainto.

“This Department Order shall take effect immediately, and remain effective until otherwise revoked,” he added.

Both Bainto and Perete were appointed to the DOJ in July, 2018

Bainto was senior associate of the Villaraza and Angangco Law Offices.

He obtained a juris doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila and was a recipient of the Evelio Javier Leadership Award in 2012.
