A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck Oriental Mindoro early Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The quake, which occurred at 1:17 a.m., was tectonic in origin and was traced 14 kilometers northwest of Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
The quake had a depth of 174 km and was felt under the following instrumental intensities: Intensity I - Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Bacoor City; Quezon City
No aftershocks and damages are expected from the tremor.
