Electrical foul-up messes MRT-3 operation

A southbound train of the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) unloaded about 780 passengers at the Ayala Station due to electrical failure, Tuesday, at 1:10 p.m.

According to the MRT-3 administration, the cause of the failure in monitor was worn-out electric sub-components (main chopper, regulator, and insulator).

“Remedial measures include preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components.” Said the management in a statement.

The passengers were loaded in the next train which arrived 11 minutes later.
