A drug suspect, who previously spent a year in jail for drug-related charges, returned behind bars after he was arrested by police in a buy-bust operation in San Juan City on Thursday.

Police Col. Ariel Fulo, San Juan City Police chief, identified the suspect as Reynaldo Daleja, alias Rey Lupa, 42, of Barangay Corazon de Jesus in San Juan City.

He was nabbed by members of Station Drug Enforcement Unit along P. Narciso Street in Barangay Corazon de Jesus at around 10 p.m.

Fulo said Daleja spent a year behind bars after he was nabbed for possession of illegal drugs in 2010, but he was released the next year after applying for probation.

Police said he continued his illegal drug operations and he was listed in the drug watchlist of San Juan City Police.

He also surrendered to the authorities in 2016 during the implementation of “Oplan Tokhang.”

Fulo said the suspect was caught red-handed selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover cop.

Another sachet of suspected shabu was also recovered from his possession, he added.

Daleja is now detained at city police custodial facility, facing charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
