In a report to PDEA Director-General Aaron Aquino, PDEA Regional Office – National Capital Region (RO-NCR) Director Joel B Plaza identified the suspects as Florida Madaya, 40, of Dasmariñas, Cavite and Saima Marangit, 19, of Manila.

Plaza said Madaya and Marangit were arrested inside the City State Hotel located at Palanca Street, Quiapo, Manila after several months of the intensive probe.

He added his men also confiscated one unit of Cherry Mobile phone and the buy-bust money aside from the one piece of a knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing shabu weighing more or less 100 grams.

A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs) of Article II of the Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” will be filed against the arrested suspects in the court.

To recall, Manila Mayor Moreno has ordered the Philippine National Police (PNP) and PDEA to clear Baseco Compound known as the most drug-infested area in the city.

Known as the area of the Bataan Shipyard and Engineering Corp, Baseco Compound is located in the port area of Manila.

The area is well-known to be the haven of firearm carrying lawless elements.
