The southwest monsoon or "habagat" and the trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) will continue to bring rains over most parts of the country on Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the brewing storm was estimated 1,135 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes on Saturday morning.

Weather specialist Gener Quitlong said that the LPA has no direct effect on the country, but its trough is affecting Visayas, Bicol Region, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, and Zambales will continue to experience heavy rains.

Light to moderate rains will prevail over Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Laguna, and Quezon.
