Communications Secretary Martin Andanar disclosed that there will be minor changes in President Duterte’s Cabinet that will be announced before or during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

In an interview over ABS-CBN, Andanar said that there have been talks about a revamp in the Cabinet but he would rather let Duterte make the announcement.

“But there is talk of minor changes in the Cabinet. And I don’t know if it’s going to happen during the State of the Nation or after the State of the Nation or maybe this week, we’ll see,” he told ANC.

“Wala pa naman, wala pa namang sinasabi si Presidente (The President has not said anything yet). Ultimately, it will be the President who will announce and who will—hindi pa naman niya ako kinakausap (he has not talked to me) about it. Wala pa naman iyong mini Cabinet-revamp na napag-uusapan (The revamp has not happened yet),” he told DZMM.

The head of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), however, did not answer if he will be part of the upcoming revamp.

“But I’m happy that I was able to serve at least three years full at the Presidential Communications—” he said.

“Kung anuman ang gusto ni Presidente (Whatever the President wants), if he wants to move me to this position or that position, we serve at the pleasure of the President,” he added.

It was rumored that Andanar would be Duterte’s new political adviser, the post vacated by Senator Francis Tolentino when he decided to run for Senate.

Andanar earlier hinted that broadcast journalist Erwin Tulfo will be taking over the PCOO. However, after Tulfo’s spat with Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista, the former said he will not accept if he is offered the said post.

“Not interested, I’m sorry. I’d rather stay in a civilian position, what I am doing,” Erwin told CNN Philippines in May.

“There were talks, but the President did not offer that to me. Kung (If) it will be offered to me, I will tell the President na (that) I’d prefer to stay in the civilian world,” he added.
