The Makati City police said its men went out of the National Capital Region (NCR) to follow up a lead that may cause the arrest of the gunman who killed a 63-year-old retiree in Makati City.

Major Gideon Ines Jr., Makati Police Investigation Unit chief, said they dispatched their men somewhere outside NCR to follow up the case, saying they were just very busy collating information last Monday that was why they failed to answer the queries of the media.
“I can’t say where they are. All I can say it that our men went out of NCR to follow-up the case today because of an information that we received,” he said.
Ines confirmed that they already have informants who gave potent information to solve the case, but he declined to divulge such because it might affect their ongoing probe.
The Investigation Unit chief said the family insisted that the victim had no known enemy and that he only stays frequently at their house, and in church when he was still alive.
Last Sunday, Jesus Dimayuga was gunned down by a motorcycle-riding gunman who shot him in the chest, near his heart.
Dimayuga, according to a police report, was driving his vehicle along Osmeña Highway in Barangay Bangkal, in the said city around 8 a.m. when he was attacked by the gunman. With him inside the car is his wife, Romana.
They were on their way home after attending a mass that day, cops said.
The gunman only fired once at the victim, causing his instantaneous death. Because of this, cops believe that the killer is a professional hitman.
On the same day, cops retrieved the plateless motorcycle used by the killer in a vacant lot on La Guardia St. in Barangay Bangkal, Makati.
It was learned from the victim’s son, JV, that his father will be cremated. Ines said that the wake of Dimayuga is still ongoing.
JV said that there is still no definite day when his father will be cremated.
Dimayuga left behind 10 children.
