CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite—More than a hundred bricks of marijuana worth P2.4 million were seized from four people, including a woman, during a drug bust in Barangay Salitran III, Dasmariñas City, Wednesday.

Police said it was one of the biggest marijuana hauls in Dasmariñas. Four months ago, 47 marijuana bricks were seized during a police operation, also in Barangay Salitran III.

A report from the Cavite provincial police identified those arrested as Albert Gabiera Abogadie, 28, Don Pimentel Ragracias, 35, Mary Rose Mones De la Peñas, 27, all residents of Summerwind, Salitran III, and Raymond Timbang Austria, 20, of Barangay Salitran I.

Aside from the 119 marijuana bricks, the team also confiscated one marijuana roll, three sachets of marijuana and a Nissan Urvan car.

Staff Sergeant Christopher M. Postrero, case investigator, said the suspects as “newly identified” in BADAC or the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

Chief Inspector Jonathan Abuel Asnan, the chief of PPO Operations Branch and Plans and Security Management Unit, said the cities of Bacoor, Dasmariñas and General Trias were among the areas with the most number of drug-related arrests this year and in 2018.

Cavite has eight districts comprising seven cities and 16 municipalities.

Only the eighth district has been declared as drug-cleared by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The eighth district is made up of Tagaytay City and the towns of Mendez-Nuñez, Alfonso, Magallanes, General Emilio Aguinaldo, also called Bailen; Maragondon, Ternate and Naic.
