Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said he will not sell the Manila Zoo and vowed to redevelop its infrastructure.

Domagoso said the city of Manila will fund the development of the zoo's sewage treatment plan.
"It has to be the city of Manila. We have to build it, because I will not disobey Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) rules. We have to build it," he said.
Domagoso also shared that he recently met with an architecture student from the University of Santo Tomas who made a thesis on the development of the zoo.
The Manila mayor underscored that it will take a long time to redevelop the zoo and called on the public to help him in the task.
