Duterte appoints 4 to Court of Appeals, one Associate Justice to Court of Tax Appeals

President Duterte has appointed four new Associate Justices of the Court of Appeals (CA) and one Associate Justice of the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA), Malacañang announced Tuesday.

The new members of the CA are Manila judge Alfredo Ampuan, Rizal judge Lily Joy Biton, Makati judge Carlito Calpatura, and Quezon City judge Angelene Mary Quimpo-Sale. The appointment papers of the new CA judges were signed by the Presidnet last July 8.

The new CA judges will replace Associate Justice Jose Reyes Jr. who was appointed to the Supreme Court, and three others who retired last year.

The President has also appointed Manila judge Jean Marie Bacorro-Villena as new Associate Justice of the Court of Tax Appeals. Her appointment paper was signed last July 8.

Other new appointees are Victor De Gracia, Director III of the Department of Education, Felino Castro, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, and Ma. Minerva Paez-Collantes, commissioner representing the employers’ sector of the National Labor Relations Commission.
