NGCP puts Luzon grid on Yellow Alert

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced Monday that the Luzon grid is on Yellow Alert status from 9 am to 5 pm.

The NGCP also posted on their Facebook page that the current available capacity is at 11,042MW while the peak demand is projected at 10,546MW.

Further details on the possible cause of the Yellow Alert status will be announced by the Department of Energy later in the day, the post read.

Meanwhile, the NGCP also announced that there will be a scheduled power interruption in parts of Batangas on Sunday (July 14).

They said that the reason for the brownout is the: “correction and maintenance work along the following: Batangas Substation, Batangas-Limaland 69kV Line, and Batangas-PLBSC 69kV Line.”

The NGCP likewise said that “all efforts will be made to restore power earlier or as scheduled.”
