Over 12,000 business delegates from different parts of the globe are anticipated to convene at the inaugural International Built Environment Week (IBEW) 2019, Asia’s first fully integrated built environment value chain event.
Gathering more than 550 exhibiting brands and 50 industry leaders, IBEW 2019 is an ideal platform for industry leaders and professionals from the global built environment to exchange ideas on policies, innovations, and trends that are shaping the future of the building and construction industry. IBEW 2019 is set to take centerstage at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore from September 3 to 6, 2019. The event is organized by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore.
IBEW 2019 features four co-located trade shows featuring the latest innovations and industry solutions: BEX Asia covers integrated design and planning space; Innobuild Asia (IB) Asia focuses on construction 4.0; Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) Asia delves into energy-efficient and renewable energy solutions; and Smart Cities and Buildings (SCB) Asia tackles latest advances in urban and smart city solutions.
“In today’s dynamic and interconnected landscape, we are seeing the blurring of lines across the diverse and exciting disciplines in the built environment sector,” said Louise Chua, Project Director of Reed Exhibitions. “IBEW 2019 brings together builders, engineers, architects, surveyors, planners, facility managers, and other building professionals to facilitate innovation, collaboration, and co-creation aimed at uplifting the building and construction industry.”
“Visitors to our four specialized shows can look forward to learning about new building materials, sustainable solutions and renewable energy, technologies that will boost productivity and reduce costs, and smart systems that will improve the experience of building owners and occupants,” Chua added.
IBEW 2019 addresses the concerns of growing urban populations across the globe, such as affordable housing, transportation, and utility infrastructures. In light of these concerns, master builders are still expected to construct quickly and efficiently, without overlooking long-term sustainability.
Hence, IBEW 2019 will also center on technology which remains at the core of innovation in the building sector, taking into account the adoption of artificial intelligence, drones, augmented reality, 3D printing, and Building Information Modeling (BIM). Discussions will also focus on the industry’s efforts in improving sustainability profile through new building materials and methods, and practices to lessen construction wastage.
Extending the knowledge sharing and ideation among attendees, IBEW 2019 will also incorporate three complimentary seminars. Green View highlights the latest trends and technological innovations in green facade design and building architecture. Energy Xchange examines the latest developments in optimizing resources such as lighting, electricity, and water. The last but not the least, Digital Rally focuses on trends in intelligent buildings and cities, and application of IoT, AI, and VR on building efficiency.
Apart from activities at exhibitions and seminars, IBEW 2019 will also serve as a dynamic international business-matching platform for buyers and investors. The event will also host curated tours that allow delegates to experience some of the best-in-class projects in Singapore.
