Makati Mayor Abigail Binay said she was proud of the latest achievement of UMak, which she regarded as “a validation of the city’s strong commitment to educational excellence”.

“I am proud to note that aside from an impressive overall passing rate that is way above the national rate, all 24 first-time board takers succeeded,” Mayor Abby said.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has reported that 5,059 out of 9,691 examinees nationwide passed the said board exam, or a 52.2 percent passing rate.

The mayor also encouraged the new nurses to apply at the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) where they can hone their skills and, at the same time, be of service to Makatizens.

Based on a list provided by the COAHS Center of Nursing at UMak, the 25 newly-licensed nurses include Lenneth Jane Abundo, Crismarfel Adame, Khim Dorothy Alcarde, Mary Rose Amper, Licca May Andrada (cum laude), Fate Carmela Baselio, Aimah Cabugatan, Raven Catipay, Emmylisa Cato, Cathyrine Ceria (cum laude).

Completing the list are Gwendolene Yzavelle Cruz, Grace Eria, Maria Leorita Escala, Raul Escasinas, Jr., Ara Regine Bianca Festin, Jammy Ann La Compte, Jemima Keshia Laynesa, Kishie Ann Mabbagu, Jasmine Maqui, Melissa Jane Murao, April Joy Presto, Maria Genina Siriban, Patricia Ann Villanueva, Anne Bernadette Macalindong, and Junna Lee Plant.

Successful examinees are advised to register online from July 3 and 12 on the PRC website for the issuance of their professional identification card and certificate of registration.

In the June 2018 nursing board, UMak attained a 75 percent overall passing rate, with a 100 percent passing rate for its first-time examinees. For both 2017 and 2018, the university posted a 100 percent passing rate in the Pharmacists Licensure Examination.
