A Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) News post said the prelate died Wednesday at St. Lukes Hospital.

Bishop Victor Bendico of Baguio said the Diocese of Baguio is one in prayer with the CICM (Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary) community in this hour of sadness.

Ordained in 1965 for the CICM, Cenzon served as bishop for nearly 27 years. He was first appointed in 1992 as Vicar Apostolic of Tabuk.

In January 2002, he was named Vicar Apostolic of Baguio and two years later became its bishop when Baguio was elevated into a diocese.
Cenzon retired from the pastoral governance of the Baguio diocese in 2016 at the age of 77.

At the CBCP, among the posts he served include being chairman of the Commission on Mutual Relations.

He also served as member of the Commission on Indigenous Peoples and Commission on Mission.
