Games Today (The Arena, San Juan City)
3 p.m. – Pacifictown Army vs Creamline
5 p.m. – BaliPure vs BanKo-Perlas

Pacifictown Army shoots for the third semifinal berth today when it battles Creamline in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.

Match is at 3 p.m. with the Lady Troopers seeking their fifth win in nine games to join the Cool Smashers and the PetroGazz Angels into the next phase.

Army will need to thread the eye of the needle to clinch that crucial victory as Creamline has its own agenda: to forge a tie on top with PetroGazz. The Cool Smashers currently tote a 7-1 mark behind the Angels’ 8-1.

But the Lady Troopers are determined to rise to the challenge, hoping for a different outcome from their first meeting where they yielded a 25-21, 25-16, 25-18 decision.

Army will continue to rely on Olena Lymareva-Flink and Jenelle Jordan’s hard-hitting plays, but they must step up net defense to stop Creamline’s own offensive weapons in Alyssa Valdez, Kuttika Kaewpin and Ale Blanco along with setter Jia Morado.

Creamline, for its part, boasts of its deep lineup as shown in an epic 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 26-24 victory over PetroGazz last weekend that halted the Angels’ seven-game winning run.

Meanwhile, BanKo-Perlas tries to keep its semis campaign alive when it tangles with BaliPure at 5 p.m.

The Perlas Spikers are running fifth with a 3-5 card following a 19-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 17-15 triumph over Motolite last Sunday, while BaliPure is still searching for the elusive first win after eight failed attempts.
