Forty seven of the 51 winning party-lists in the May 13 midterm polls have already secured their Certificates of Proclamation, data from the Commission on Elections revealed.
These groups are ACT-CIS; BAYAN MUNA; AKO BICOL; CIBAC; ANG PROBINSYANO; 1PACMAN; MARINO; and PROBINSYANO AKO. These groups are set to get two seats except for top vote-getters ACT CIS and BAYAN MUNA which will get three seats.
Groups with one nominee each that already received their COPs are MAGSASAKA; APEC; GABRIELA; AN WARAY; COOP-NATCCO; ACT TEACHERS; PHILRECA; AKO BISAYA; TINGOG SINIRANGAN; ABONO; BUHAY; KALINGA; PBA; ALONA; RECOBODA; BH; BAHAY; CWS; ABANG LINGKOD; A TEACHER; BHW; SAGIP; TUCP; MAGDALO; GP; MANILA TEACHERS; RAM; AKO PADAYON; KUSUG TAUSUG; DUMPER PTDA; TGP; PATROL; AMIN; AGAP; LPGMA; OFW FAMILY; KABAYAN; DIWA; and KABATAAN.
This means 57 out of the 61 party-list representative seats are now ready to assume their seats in the House of Representatives in the 18th Congress.
The four party-lists still without COP due to “issues” are SENIOR CITIZENS; DUTERTE YOUTH; ANAKALUSUGAN; and AAMBIS-OWA.
On Wednesday, Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon revealed the decision of the en banc to withhold the COP of DUTERTE YOUTH due to the pending cases against its first nominee Ronald Cardema.
It was not clear why the other three party-lists have yet to get their COPs.
A COP is a requirement by the House of Representatives in allowing winning congressmen to assume their posts.
