The Office of the Vice President has implemented a program for its own employees to develop their leadership skills and prepare them for future leadership roles in public service.

The second batch of 20 OVP staff completed the Junior Leadership Development Program for this year aimed at providing training and empowering them to become future leaders.

Vice President Leni Robredo said she hoped that through this program, they will continue to serve their fellow Filipinos.

“Iyong pinaka-magandang, parang, konsepto ng programa, mag-iisip sila ng mga proyekto na makakabuti sa operasyon ng opisina. Iyong aming first batch, tapos na last year,” she said.

(The best concept of the program is they will think of projects that will be good to the operations of the office. The first batch of employees graduated last year.)

“Iyong maganda nito kasi iyong mga proyekto nila ginagawa na namin ngayon (What is good about it, we are now implementing their projects),” Robredo added.

Started in 2018, OVP employees joined the leadership program on a voluntary basis focusing on four organization development pillars: system improvement, engagement and collaboration, leadership, and skills development.

JLDP is an initiative of OVP in partnership with The Rizal Academy for Innovation and Leadership or TRAIL to “empower future leaders and cultivate a culture of exemplary public service.”

People empowerment has been one of Robredo’s major advocacies. It is also for this reason her office started the program last year.
