The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned the public against the purchase and consumption of six drug products found unregistered with the agency.
The FDA identified the unregistered products as Keteling Jiaonang, Yanyan Pian Tablet, Yin Huang Jiao Nang, QingFei YiHuo Pian tablets, Pe Min Kan Wan (Nasal Clear) 50’s Tablets, and KeepFit Reducing and Whitening Capsule.
“[The] FDA Post-Marketing Surveillance (PMS) activities have verified that the abovementioned drug products have not gone through the registration process of the agency and have not been issued with proper authorization in the form of Certificate of Product Registration,” said the FDA in its advisory no. 2019-150.
The FDA said that these products may pose “potential danger or injury if administered.”
“The agency cannot guarantee their efficacy, quality, and safety. The public is advised not to purchase the aforementioned violative products and to be vigilant against drug products that might not be duly registered with the FDA,” it said.
All concerned establishments were warned not to distribute the said products until these were covered by appropriate authorization.
“All local government units and law enforcement agencies are requested to ensure that these products are not sold or made available in their localities or areas of jurisdiction,” the FDA said.
