Manila police to close roads for the 121st Independence Day events June 12

The Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit will implement road closure and rerouting of vehicles and trucks in some parts of Manila on June 12 for the celebration of the 121st Independence Day.

The north and southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to Pres. Quirino Avenue as well as the north and southbound lane Roxas Boulevard Service Road from TM Kalaw Avenue to Pres. Quirino Avenue will be closed from 5:00 a.m. on June 12.

All light vehicles travelling along Bonifacio Drive intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn left at P. Burgos, turn right to Ma. Orosa, or go straight to Finance Road to point of destination.

Motorists coming from the westbound of Kalaw Ave. intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. should turn left to MH Del Pilar to point of destination.

All vehicles intending to utilize the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. should turn right at Pres. Quirino to point of destination.

MPD public information chief Lt. Colonel Carlo Manuel said trucks will also not be allowed to enter Roxas Boulevard from the corner of Pres Quirino Avenue to Katigbak Drive, Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive and President Quirino Avenue Extension (Plaza Dilao) starting from 5:00 a.m. onwards on Wednesday.

All trucks traveling along Bonifacio Drive, intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should take the roundabout of Anda Circle going northbound to R10, turn right to Capulong, and take the south truck route to point of destination.

Trucks intending to utilize the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. should turn right to Pres. Quirino Avenue to point of destination.

All trailer trucks intending to utilize the Pres. Quirino Avenue Extension to UN Avenue shall go straight to Pres Quirino Avenue to Nagtahan to point of destination.

“Actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on actual traffic situation. Flying of aerial drones is strictly prohibited over the vicinity of United States Embassy and at events area," Manuel said.
