Lt. Rockcliff Buling, head of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Bacolod, said the Ocean Jet 12 was about to dock at Bredco past 5 p.m. when it hit a portion of the pier.

The vessel had come from Iloilo City with 147 passengers.

The 13 injured passengers and one crew member were taken to a hospital and were later discharged.

Buling said the company extended medical assistance to the wounded victims.

The Ocean Jet 12 was temporarily suspended pending an inspection of the vessel.

There have been two similar incidents involving Ocean Jet boats in the past two years.

The company has to file a marine protest to rectify the problem and prevent a repetition of the incident, Buling said.
