NLEX is working on finalizing a deal to acquire TNT KaTropa’s Jericho Cruz, who has been placed on the injured list for unknown reasons.

Assistant coach Jojo Lastimosa admitted that the Road Warriors are working out a way to get a good deal in order to get Cruz, who has yet to see action in the current PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

“Nagaantay lang kami ng tamang trade package for him para makuha namin siya,” Lastimosa said after NLEX’s 120-105 loss to Columbian at the Mall of Asia Arena.

NLEX and TNT are looking at another team to be able to make the trade push through. Sister teams are prohibited from making direct trades under league rules.

Getting Cruz will help NLEX a great deal after falling to 0-4 in the midseason tournament. The Road Warriors have struggled to get the consistency from their local players since the start of the season.

Cruz has not seen action since the early stages of the Philippine Cup elims.
