Body of 22-year-old woman found in Muntinlupa 

A body of a 22-year-old woman with no upper garment was found inside the storage unit of a food establishment in Muntinlupa City on Saturday.

The victim was identified by police as Sheva Adare Mae Prementil, assistant supervisor of Llanas Supermarket, Montillano Street, Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City, and resident of Nofuente Compound Purok 2, Brgy. Cupang, Muntinlupa City.

Police are now hunting suspect Alexander Morpuz, 23, a stay-in helper of Buko Island.

Investigation showed that the victim's body was discovered by her co-boarder Maricor Mendoza at the storage room of Buko Island at around 11 in the morning at Nofuente Compound Purok 2, Brgy. Cupang, Muntinlupa City.

According to investigators, Prementil's body was wrapped with a rice sack that was bloodied. Mendoza immediately reported the incident to the police.

Authorities said that the victim sustained a wound on the head and found that there were also cut on her left wrist. Her upper garment was also missing.

Her body was moved to the Loreto Funeral Services in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City for autopsy while a manhunt operation is now underway for the possible apprehension of the suspect.

Police have yet to establish the motive regarding the killing. (Dhel Nazario)

1-month-old baby killed in road mishap

A one-month-old baby was killed while his mother was injured after they were hit by a public utility jeepney in Barangay Bangkulasi, Navotas City on Sunday morning.

Police identified the victims as Kaehl Ejija Mariano; and Angelica Ejija, 22; both residents of the area.

Arrested was Reymond Eccoasion Villanueva, 45, driver, resident of Tondo, Manila.

Investigation showed that Angelica was carrying her baby and walking along Road 10, Pescador Street in Navotas City towards their house at about 6:40 a.m.

Meanwhile, Villanueva's vehicle was traversing the same road and was headed towards C4 Road in Navotas City.

After the victims got hit by the vehicle, they were rushed to the Navotas City Hospital but the one-month-old baby was declared dead on arrival.

His body was brought to the Northern Police District Crime Laboratory Office.

Villanueva, who is now under police custody, will be facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injury. (Minka Klaudia Tiangco)

No. 5 most wanted in Muntinlupa arrested

The number five most wanted person of Muntinlupa City was arrested by police during a follow-up operation past midnight on Sunday.

Police arrested suspect RIcardo Ricacho, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 276 Judge Antonietta Medina for the crime of carnapping.

Investigation showed that the suspect was apprehended at around 1 in the morning at Perpetual Village 8 corner Tirona Highway, Barangay Habay, Bacoor, Cavite.

Police said that prior to his arrest on May 25, police received information regarding the suspect's whereabouts.

Immediately, the team of the Warrant and Subpoena Unit of the Muntinlupa police proceeded to the  area at about 9 in the morning but Ricacho managed to escape.

A follow up operation was then conducted until the suspect was arrested.

He was later turned over to the Temporary Custodial Detention Facilities Muntinlupa City Police Station for proper disposition.
