Senate recently passed a bill declaring September 8, known to devotees as Mother Mary’s birthday, as a special working holiday.
With a vote of 19-0, Senate unanimously passed the bill which seeks to declare the said date a holiday.
If the said bill is signed into law by President Duterte, it will become the second law that recognizes the significance of a particular date that is connected with Mama Mary.
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception was declared a special non-working holiday in 2017.
