CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – Candidates of the Partido Demokratko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) in Agusan del Norte rampaged through their rivals and swept 10 electoral posts in the midterm elections last Monday.
Spearheading the 10-0 victory of PDP-Laban candidates was Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante-Matba, who prevailed over her own brother Erlpe John Amante to become the province’s next congressman in the second district.
Party mate former Cabadbaran City mayor Dale Corvera will replace her as provincial governor while Vice Governor Ramon AG Bungabong was re-elected to his post.
The other PDP-Laban bets, who bagged seats in the provincial board (Sangguniang Panlalawigan) were Bobong Chan, Babette Calo, Rudy Pitogo, Nieva Famador, James Reserva, Dick Victor Carmona and Erwin Dano.
With the convincing victory, Amante-Matba on Wednesday appealed to all Agusanons, especially her brother Erlpe John, to “forget politics and join forces for the benefit of all Agusanons”.
“Please… please let’s forget politics and will work and help one another for the development and progress of our very own province,” she said.
