Vote counting machine burned in Isabela

Isabela police reported finding a vote counting machine (VCM) that had been burned along with about 200 unread ballots found in Jones, Isabela, Tuesday morning.

Arlyn Borromeo Santos, a member of the board of election inspectors, BEI, told police a group of gunmen blocked their vehicle with a dump truck.

Santos said they were on the way to the Jones municipal hall to deliver the election paraphelnalia from five polling precincts in Barangay Dicamay I and six precincts in Dicamay II when the group ordered them to surrender the VCM.

The group then set fire to the equipment and other election materials.

Police were investigating the incident.
