CEU, already assured of a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarters, can secure the No. 1 seed in the crossover quarterfinals with a win over Far Eastern University on April 23 at the same venue.

Earlier, Marinerong Pilipino gained an inside track at the fourth and last quarters spot in the group after trouncing University of Perpetual Help, 90-76.

Santi Santillan sparked a comeback from being down 32-20 early in the second quarter to finish with 21 points and 17 rebounds and give the Skippers a 5-4 record at the end of the eliminations.

Gab Banal produced 27 points, 12 rebounds and six assists even as Art Aquino added 13 points and five rebounds for Marinerong Pilipino, which needs a Far Eastern University loss to clinch a quarters slot.

FEU holds a 5-3 record going into its match against CEU.

Marinero holds the tiebreaker edge over FEU for winning their only elims meeting.
The top four teams in both the Foundation and Aspirants Groups advance to the league’s crossover quarterfinals.
