Oreta has garnered at least 99,425 votes, while his opponent, Vice Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, has garnered 55,579.

The result is based on the 98.8% total number of voters.

Voting results from two vote counting machine (VCM) SD cards from two clustered precincts are yet to be uploaded, if they are found to be still working.

The vote counting session was adjourned by the city’s board of canvassers at around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The proclamation of Oreta is expected to take place at around 3:00 p.m. today, May 14.

No major elections irregularities were reported, National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL) Malabon chairperson Ricamor Delos Reyes said.

Delos Reyes said she received reports on overheating of the VCMs but does not consider these as major concern because they were immediately resolved.
