BACOLOD CITY – A man who was allegedly suffering from nervous breakdown hacked to death his father and elder brother inside their residence at Barangay Kapitan Ramon, Silay City, Negros Occidental early Sunday.

Slain were Ronilo Oroceo Sr., 69; and Sonny Boy Oroceo, 33.

Police Maj. Rollie Pondevilla, city police chief, said the two victims were allegedly killed by Ronilo Oroceo Jr., 29.

The suspect attacked his father first with a bladed weapon locally known as “lantip” used for sugarcane.

His elder brother tried to pacify him but he also hit him with the bladed weapon.

Both victims succumbed to multiple hacked wounds.

The suspect dropped the bladed weapon at water well after the incident.

Pondevilla said the suspect surrendered to a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) few hours after the incident.

He (suspect) admitted the crime to the police, but he did not tell them the reason for committing the crime.

He killed his father and brother for an unknown reason, Pondevilla said.

Pondevilla said the mother, who was not at home when the incident happened, is willing to file parricide charges against her son who is detained at the police station.
