Fr. Reginald Malicdem, rector of Manila Cathedral or the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Intramuros, Manila, is inviting the faithful to attend the Holy Mass and join the candlelight rosary procession at 6 p.m. Sunday in advance celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima and for a peaceful and honest elections on Monday.
“We are going to celebrate a mass and hold a candlelight rosary procession, which will be offered for a peaceful, orderly, and God-centered elections,” Malicdem said.
Since the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima Monday, May 13, coincides with the midterm elections, Malicdem urged the faithful “to seek the intercession of the Blessed Mother in voting for the right candidates.”
“Let us fill the Plaza Hall here in Intramuros with lights from our candles and with our voices as we pray and sing, seeking the intercession and guidance of the Holy Mother and her Son, Jesus Christ, as we choose the right leaders – those who are compassionate and God-fearing. Let us prove that, we, Catholics, and all of us Filipinos, have the ability to unite,” the priest said.
