P185,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in Manila
Various illegal drugs, including ecstasy and kush or high-grade marijuana, amounting to around P185,000 were seized from nine individuals in a hotel in Malate, Manila last Wednesday afternoon.
Elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Manila Police District (MPD) conducted a joint buy-bust operation against Jetrick Brianne Santos alias “Tol” at room 455 Century Park Hotel at about 12:50 a.m. on May 8, leading to his arrest.
They also picked up their subject’s cohorts namely Jezreel Joseph Silva, Harley de Jesus, Mary Rose Santos, Ryan Alvin Tañada, Ralph Ivan Manalang, Nurshida Sabdani, Ma. Oliva dela Llana, and Mayumi Calugay.
Pieces of evidence recovered were ecstasy in tablet and liquid form; dried leaves of kush; ketarol, which is a non-inflammatory drug; and, Wari active spray, which is also a pain killer that has been tagged in the death of five youth in a summer concert in Pasay City in 2016.
Drug paraphernalia was also confiscated from them.
The estimated street value of the said substances was pegged at P184,500.
Urine of the suspects was collected to test for drug use.
The specimens along with the seized items were turned over to PDEA Laboratory Service for examination.
Meanwhile, the suspects were temporarily detained at MPD Station 9 and charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Ria Fernandez)
