The candidacy of San Juan City mayoral bet former vice mayor Francis Zamora got a huge boost when he learned that he was going to have the backing of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), a religious organization known to practice bloc voting.
In the Facebook post of Zamora, he expressed gratitude to INC for choosing to support him.
“Maraming salamat po sa Kapatiran ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa suportang ipinagkaloob po ninyo para sa aking kandidatura para mayor ng San Juan (Thank you so much to the Iglesia ni Cristo for the support that you gave to my candidacy as mayor of San Juan),” he said.
President Duterte-backed Zamora is running against incumbent Vice Mayor Janella Estrada, daughter of former senator Jinggoy Estrada.
Estrada was also endorsed by presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, head of regional party Hugpong Ng Pagbabago.
The hand of Zamora was raised by President Duterte to endorse his candidacy for mayor in a recent sortie in Laguna.
Zamora promised to bring “change” to San Juan City should he get elected as mayor.
