Comebacking Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim said he will not be removing anyone from the city government’s employ once he becomes mayor again.
During a dialogue with residents of fifth district in Baseco, Lim even said that in fact, he will order the hiring of more street sweepers, considering how dirty the surroundings of Manila had become.
Lim allayed fears caused by rumors being circulated by those from opposing camps that those hired by the current city administration stand to lose their jobs if he wins in the coming elections.
According to Lim, all employees including the casuals, job order (JO) personnel, traffic aides, streetsweepers and the like, will be retained, even as the papers of those who have not been duly promoted might even be reviewed and should they be qualified, they might even be promoted.
Lim also said that his administration will enhance the current makeup of the department of public services (DPS) so that more personnel will be hired to help in keeping the city clean at all times.
The former mayor also vowed that the salaries of all employees -whether they be JO, casual, temporary or regular- will always be given on time, including the benefits due them to do away with the system where an employe would pawn his ATM or avail of loans left and right just to be able to have money to spend, since they do not get their salaries on time.
