Filipinos were most satisfied with the Senate because of its transparency, independence, and sincerity, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said Wednesday.

Sotto said this following the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey that yielded a "very good" +62 satisfaction rating for the Senate in the first quarter of the year.

This was the highest among key government institutions, with 72 percent saying they were satisfied with the Senate's performance, 10 percent dissatisfied, and the rest undecided.

"We work hard. The present Senate is transparent, independent and sincere," the Senate leader told reporters in a text message when asked for comment.

Sotto said the public's satisfaction with the Upper Chamber also supported his belief that the seven incumbent senators running for this year's midterm elections should be elected anew.

"It bolsters my proposition that all reelectionists be reelected," he said.

Sotto has been endorsing the reelection bid of Senators Grace Poe, Joseph Victor Ejercito, Cynthia Villar, Nancy Binay, Sonny Angara, Koko Pimentel, and Bam Aquino.
