James Canlas scored 14 of his 16 points in the first quarter that saw the Movers take an 18-3 lead at the start before securing their sixth win in seven outings to tie idle Centro Escolar University atop the group standings.
Coach Boyet Fernandez’s team also forced 26 turnovers which Metropac converted to 33 points to keep Trinity winless after seven matches.
Earlier, Diliman College-Gerry’s Grill put a dent in Wangs Basketball’s quarterfinal chances while enhancing its own bid.

The Blue Dragons led 53-34 at the half and never looked back to Wangs a chance to climb to fourth place.
Wangs dropped to 3-3 for a share of fifth place with Marinerong Pilipino, half-game behind fourth-running Chadao-Far Eastern University (4-3) and half-game ahead of Diliman.
Axel Inigo fired 33 points but it was not enough for Wangs to prevent Diliman College from picking up a crucial win.
