The Manila Police District (MPD) warned commuters for the possible influx of labor groups protesters in Manila during the celebration of Labor Day.
In an advisory, MPD’s traffic enforcement unit advised the public to expect traffic within the vicinity of Morayta, Mendiola, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Plaza Miranda, Liwasang Bonifacio, and US Embassy because these are the places where rallies are usually held.
They encouraged the motorists going to Mendiola and the U.S. Embassy to take alternative routes in order to avoid traffic.
In Mendiola, all vehicles coming from Legarda should turn right to Bustillos to point of destination.
Vehicles coming from P. Casal should turn left to C. Aguila to point of the destination while motorists utilizing the eastbound lane of CM Recto shall turn left or right to Rizal Ave to point of destination.
On the other hand, in the vicinity of U. S. Embassy, motorists coming from the westbound lane of Kalaw intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn left to M H Del Pilar to point of destination.
Vehicles intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should be left to P. Burgos to point of destination.
“Actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on actual traffic condition,” MPD said.
