ASUS Philippines amplifies the heat of summer by staging RE:DEFINE 2019 bootcamp in Tagaytay where the company revealed its latest roster of Republic of Gamers (ROG) and TUF Gaming laptops primarily powered by the CPUs and GPUs from AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA.

The recent event augments ASUS’s leadership in the gaming laptop market not only in the country, but also in the region. “We are very happy to share with our friends that ASUS ROG and TUF Gaming are the number one gaming brands in the country,” said George Su, Country Manager at ASUS Philippines. “According to the latest GfK data, we found out that we achieved 50% in market share. In the first quarter of 2019, ASUS achieved 30% market share, making it the number one brand in Southeast Asia, specifically in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines.”

The introduction was topbilled by the ROG Zephyrus M GU502 which shares design with the ROG Zephyrus S GX502, featuring a 15-inch display with the signature Active Aerodynamic System and reinforced magnesium alloy chassis with soft touch finish. Within its slim profile, the GU502 is powered by a 9th Generation Intel Core i7 CPU coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU. The laptop also features USB Type-C charging, dual M.2 NVMe SSD storage, and premium ESS Sabre DAC for audio.

Next up is the ROG Strix G G531. A new variant from the ROG Strix portfolio, the G531 brandishes a brushed finish and a 15.6-inch display with slim bezels, powered by a 9th Generation Intel Core CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX Turing GPU. The G531 also highlights a wrap-around light bar that extends Aura Sync to the user's environment and RangeBoost which evaluates the surroundings to improve reception.

Completing the product showcase at the bootcamp, ASUS ultimately introduced the 15.6-inch FX505DU and the 17.3-inch FX705DU from the TUF Gaming series. Unlike the GU502 and the G531, the last two laptop models are powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, but still use NVIDIA's GeForce GTX Turing graphics. Faithful to its TUF (tough) designation, the FX505DU and the FX705DU are compliant with the US MIL-STD-810G standard, a guarantee that they can survive jolts, knocks, and bumps of daily usage.

The FX505DU and the FX705DU feature a desktop-inspired RGB-backlit keyboard with highlighted WASD key group, 20 million key press lifespan, and Overstroke technology for fast and effortless control. Adding to their durability, the laptops also integrate a anti-dust design and Fan Overboost which facilitate stable cooling and peak performance. DTS Headphone:X assures that gamers will have a more immersive experience with these new laptops.

In the Philippines, ASUS TUF Gaming's FX505DU and FX705DU are priced at P71,995 and P74,995 respectively. Another laptop model to look forward to from the TUF Gaming series is the 15-inch FX505DT which comes in two CPU variants: Ryzen 7 3750 for P54,995 and Ryzen 5 3550 for P49,995. All TUF Gaming laptops are bundled with a free backpack.

Other ASUS gaming laptops that are launching soon in the country include: the ROG Zephyrus S GX502, GX531, and GX701; ROG Strix SCAR III and HERO III G531 and G731; and the ROG Mothership GZ700, dubbed as The Beast, with factory-overclocked Intel Core i9-9980HK.

“This quarter is very exciting for ASUS ROG and TUF Gaming. We are introducing all new models with Intel’s 9th Generation Core CPUs, AMD’s third generation Ryzen 7 and 5 CPUs, and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and Turing GPUs. We believe that these latest platforms can bring the best experience to Filipino gamers. We’ve also fine-tuned our product design, making our laptops better in terms of cooling and battery life,” Su added.
