Metro League: Valenzuela snuffs out Taguig

Valenzuela banked on a third quarter blast to beat Taguig, 72-67, in the Metro League Reinforced Conference at the San Juan Gym on Thursday night.

The Workhorse outscored the Generals, 23-11, in the third period, to take a 57-50 lead before holding their opponents off down the stretch.

Jeric Diego put up 14 points and three rebounds for Valenzuela, which moved up to second place in the Northern Division at 2-1.

Emmanuel Ojoula dropped 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting, 14 rebounds, and one assist for Taguig, which lost for the first time in the conference, missing out on a chance to tie Bacoor at the top of the Southern Division standings.
