4.5-magnitude aftershock hits Zambales

A magnitude 4.5 aftershock struck Zambales at 2:02 a.m. Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has reported.

The earthquake had a depth of 11 kilometers northeast of Castillejos town, with the following registered intensities:

Intensity III – Olongapo City; Intensity II – Quezon City, Muntinlupa City, and Taguig City.

Phivolcs said the quake was felt under the following instrumental intensities:

San Ildefonso, Bulacan
Olongapo City
Guagua, Pampanga

Intensity I
Talisay, Batangas
Tagaytay City
Palayan City
Quezon City
Pasig City
Gapan City
Malolos City, Bulacan
Magalang, Pampanga

No aftershocks or damages are expected from the tremor.

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Metro Manila and other areas in Luzon Monday afternoon, killing at least 16 people and causing injury to several others, power outage, and the collapse of several buildings.

The town of Castillejos was the epicenter of Monday’s quake.

On Tuesday, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake also struck Eastern Samar.
