SEAG aspirants vie in Asian boxfest in Bangkok


Composed of aspirants to the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG), the Philippines plunged into action Friday in the Asian Boxing Championships in Bangkok.

Four fighters — light-flyweight Ramel Macado, fly Marvin Tabamo, light-welter Sugar ray Ocana and female feather Nesthy Petecio — were scheduled to kick off the Filipinos’ bid in the nine-day slugfest featuring the very best of the region.

Lightweight Jeorgercy Eduma, Ian Clark Bautista and female light-fly Josie Gabuco make their appearances on Saturday, while welter Joel Bacho takes the spotlight on Sunday.
